“The more you know” aside: It’s not that you get more prejudiced with age, it’s that whatever prejudice was mainstream in your youth becomes more noticeably out of place as society progresses.

I don’t see how being deranged is better than being dead. I suppose it’s a matter of preference.  
I mean seriously, for Pinkie, friend to all and loves to make people smile, becoming like this has to be a fate worse than death.
