According to the artist, she didn’t have much time with DT, since she died during childbirth. She is also a very kind mare according to the artist.
Maybe Spoiled was manipulating him, and acted nice at first, but slowly started to show her true colours.
On one hand, Dt could just have a crappy mother.
Unfortunate, but it happens.
On the other, she could have missed out on a mare that has at least retained basic kindness, that has either been killed or left them, and Rich thought Spoiled was a fine replacement.
