They already nuked us with Starlight Glimmer, Flurry, EQG and all the other sh*t so I don’t really see how shipping would be any different. This fandom is a crumbling mess as it is, might as well add another Flesh Sentry, people will get butthurt and leave or stay as haters, new will join… It is a never-ending cycle. I only wish the people who join were even half as talented, cultured and consistent as the ones we lose :(

writers are getting antsy. they need each of the mane 6 to hook up with someone, fast. otherwise they’ll never get out of the no-romance limbo.  
I bet you they probably already have two seasons worth of hot steamy romance story ideas cooked up for the mane 6 but couldn’t write it for the show BECAUSE REASONS.
 
Let’s be real; writers and animators can only get blue balled for so long before they riot and decided to dish out a love story that will send the fandom back into the stone age from infighting and a nuclear fallout.

I’m sure they want the characters to have chemistry. I’m sure they want that for all their characters, they just have varying degrees of success. This is nothing new or extraordinary.
