yay! my favorite power mac g3
Depends on the cards - there was no built in video. I think most of them had a DVI but all I ever had was YAY! monitors.
Looking at the back of my MacPro it’s all DVIs, so I think the age of VGI is long gone.
… I think I just mourned the passing of VGA. Time to check my meds.
Did the G5s ever come with VGA? I thought it was only DVI and ADC. Or does the devkit use a different graphics card?
I still have my XBox 360 Dev Kit like-a-look, but I’m not sure what to do with it … Sure, it still has some nice games on it, like Oni and Marathon, but the G5 is old hardware. Seriously old. Like, I’m not even sure if I still have a VGA monitor anywhere …
Now I want to see if it will still boot and play Oni some more …

I’ll take drivers that aren’t a million years old (AKA PowerPC Apple) over repairability any day of the week. Seriously, that’s something everyone seems to forget when reminiscing about Apple computers of yore: Drivers that sucked arse through a straw.
Back in the days when Apple made computers that were designed to be easy to upgrade and maintain.
My first computer was a graphite coloured G4. I used it for 7 years, all through university, until the PSU broke and then kept it sitting on a shelf for another 7 because it looked so cool.
