Luna: “It started as gratitude and admiration and slowly morphed into something more.”
Amen
I do agree with you, but well, Shippers are just going to see what they want to see. That’s how most of these things works with fans.
I’m not sure why that matters. She likely did feel gratitude towards all of them. In one case that developed into friendship, and then romantic attraction due to their interactions after this point. Relationships aren’t a deterministic input/output algorithm where everyone starting at the same point will always end up with the same result.

Don’t worry, I don’t mindlessly hate on things like that, and you won’t have to worry about that. I’m just a stickler for lore-friendliness, hell, even in video games that allow mods, I only use lore friendly things.
See, this is where it gets murky.
Due to the lack of details, we absolutely can’t tell what happened with Celestia.
Was she hiding? Or was she trapped in the sun?
Did she plan all this? Or was it just a “wing it” thing?
Plus, you’re looking at it wrong.
Did it matter to Luna who planned it, or who was the one who helped her?
@Background Pony #5EBE
See, shippers are people who like to think that a certain relationship would work, no matter the circumstances.
And the more they spend on thinking about it, reading about it, drawing it, etc, the more convinced they become that it’s something that should happen. There might be no logic in it, but for them, it’s a thing.
I should know, I’m obsessed with TwiLuna.
It’s just a thing some of us enjoy. It doesn’t have to make sense in the context of JUST canon material. It was fanfics and fanart that got me to like this particular ship and thus inspire me to make more of it. To me, it’s a matter of “It’s cute and sweet” not “Is this canonically possible?”
And it’s totally fine that it’s not a thing you get or like. We all have our tastes, preferences and just things we don’t get. Just please don’t turn into one of those that has to hate on things you don’t like or make it known every single time you see a thing you don’t like.
I’m not trying to be mean, I just don’t get it. The ships themselves don’t get me angry, I just want to know why.
It also reminds me of The Unexpected Love Life of Dusk Shine XD
Plus, there’s also the Celestia leading Twilight to do everything while she was off hiding aspect of it which is kinda off-putting. You could say it was Celestia who engineered everything, even Twilight and Luna’s relationship here, since it was all her plan.
No, expected.
I think someone asked on one of these what the basis of this ship was and this was more or less the answer I gave.
Isn’t the entire point of the elements that you need all of them to work? Without any of them it wouldn’t have worked. Being alone with NMM was brave, but does it really mean anything else besides that? It’s not like she was doing it to rescue Luna, she did it to rescue Celestia.
You mean what you accepted?
@MadVillan
Because Twilight was the sticking point of the elements.
Without her, it’s just a group of mismatched civilian ponies.
Plus there was the whole “facing Nightmare Moon alone” thing.
Also, this is just half of the equation, Twilight’s side is as important.
