yeah I saw some gameplay and they really zoom out the world a lot. your map barely crawls along, so no reason to stare at it.
A book you have to pay attention to at all times, though.
Pokemon Go has vibration, and sounds, when you find something you actually need to interact with.
The only time you should be staring at the phone continuously is when either catching pokemon, in which case you should probably stop so you don’t walk too far and confuse the game (it’s easily confused)
Or when trying to get close enough to a landmark to use the poke-stop, in which case you should already know what the terrain looks like.
Heck, even when going for poke-stops, you shouldn’t look at it constantly; There’s not much point.
Just check if you’re close enough every now and then, and if not, go back to finding a way closer.
I don’t remember, something about school. ran into too many poles, I guess!
what are you doing reading a book while walking?
I walk into poles when I’m reading a book, so sorry, but I think that kind of spatial awareness might not be as basic as you think.
It shows roads, buildings and bodies of water. You still need basic fucking spacial awareness to not walk off a cliff, run into a a tree/lightpost, etc.
huh. that sounds incredibly dangerous.
It does a flat map like shown in the top panel at all points in time that you aren’t trying to catch a pokemon you’ve found on the map with the AR mode turned on.
weird. I thought it took a video of the surrounding area and put pokemon into it, so it’d have the cliff in it.
No
didn’t the cliff appear on their smartphones?
EDIT:It already happened look up CNN pokemon go cliff to find the article
Edited
to be fair, wooden building blocks don’t constantly provoke tiny bursts of adrenalin to get you addicted to playing with them.
It’s a video game. Of course it’s evil. Just ask Jack Thompson.
By the way, did he
ramble incoherentlyspeak jewels of absolute wisdom about Pokemon Go yet?Try wanting a Golem.
But you can blame the vengeful ghost of Darwin if a game about evolution happens to remove those people from the gene pool.
Best use for Google glass yet.
Ooooh right.
That’s because people are idiots. The Pokemon is clearly in the catching circle yet they try to get as close as possible. Also, they have their phone surgically attached to their faces.
