Having used them at a couple places down here, paper straws work a lot better than they have any right to. The ones at Disney’s Animal Kingdom were wider and thicker, and you could definitely tell that they were absorbing liquid at the tip, but they held up. The ones at Kennedy Space Center were thinner and skinnier, maybe too skinny; every time I’d take a sip some of the drink would foam up out of the top afterward. Either way, they’re not obviously worse than disposable plastic straws. (Reusable plastic straws, like you get with the souvenir cups, those are another story.)
having actually used paper straws at a restaurant, I can confirm they are shockingly sturdy
Edited
You can eat cereal with milk in a paper bowl. The paper needs to be thicker than what you are thinking of, and probably specially treated. Probably involving chemicals that people wouldn’t think of as “earth friendly.”
I haven’t actually seen one, but paper straws seem horribly impractical as a concept; from my impression, they’d destroy themselves the moment a liquid came into contact wih it.

California enjoys banning things almost as much as Great Britain does.
I thought the same thing and looked it up, but it seems like no one is trying that method (instead I get ways to turn your straws into art). Maybe it’s not cost-effective to go that route or there’s some other problem. Although, there are places that have banned the sale of plastic straws and use paper straws instead.
Edited because: Grammer error
If we were actually caring about the environment we’d just set the straws aside and melt them into a patty big enough that it doesn’t fall through the filters.
Don’t forget cancer, lots and lots of lung cancer :D
Man, I love that show too. X3
Regular radios work pretty well in a non-office style work place where you want generic background music that probably won’t offend anyone and help people keep working away at mundane repetitive stuff.
Radios are also good in busses or carpools like a van or something.
Internet radio or a iTunes Playlist or whatever modern computer provided music works better in a office where computers are all over the place.
I also had a fun time awhile ago looking into the corporate conspiracy theories involved in how Starbucks decides to arrange their coffee shops music play list, as most people seem to agree is full of awful music.
Edited because: Starbucks is evil yo.
Only time we bother with the radio is when we’re on a roadtrip and Prairie Home Companion is on.
I haven’t listened to any kind of radio in almost 15 years.
To be honest I still have no clue how people can sit in front of the TV all damned day long.
TV might be pretty big today, along with all of the stupid junk on the internet like YouTube and Facebook, but radio is Still around. Even if some people do internet radio instead these days.
Being far up north and really cold, doesn’t mean that you can’t be really dry and ready to catch fire. Canada has its heat waves too.
I’m reminded of when Batman stopped John Wilkes Booth from assassinating Abraham Lincoln in an alternate reality during the series finale of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. :j
I find it ironic that Canada, a place that is really cold(from what I heard of), is currently going through the one of the worst wildfires in history
Guess nothing is safe nowadays
I hope things get better for you soon.
Yup! Only those with a decent sense of sarcasm and irony can truly survive on the Internet, with all of the memes everywhere!
Okay.
@Ping_chan
Oh it’s kinda Irony.
Edited
Oh wow, there is a funny series of quotation posters featuring Abraham Lincoln and fake quotes.
Of course he never made a quote regarding the Internet, but that just adds to the humor of him stating that quotes found on the Internet are rarely accurate!
Just Google Abraham Lincoln Internet quote!
