Yeah, RIP home theater, and it just become another cheap shop…  
Anyway, do you able to see the “gem video icon” in the gem buying menu section?? (which is the + sign besides the gems count)
 
I only get the icon showing up at two places, which is the gem buying menu, and the Canterlot boutique like the one in the pic.

With the material video… I have never seen it before in my game. The gem video I used to see… but could only gain 1-2 gems a week since it said I had watched them all (one) already and to check back later. But since the theater thing changed into an actual shop, I have never seen it again.

Yup, the “gem video icon” is still there everyday I visit the Canterlot boutique.  
And I am forced to watch it everyday just to gain a free material, and it still showing the same old ads of that “Dragon Mania Legends, download now for free”.  
Now the words is imprinted in my head. Dx
 
For the reason for the disappearing “gem video icon”, I don’t really know…. And I know that you’re not the only one mentioned about this bug happening in the game, according to the Gameloft forum.
 
I do experienced this kind of bug once before, and it kinda lasted for months, However, the bug was fix after there’s an update patch for the game.

I have noticed another interesting little thing about your screenshots that mine doesn’t have…. the free materials for watching videos thing… and I assume you also have a gem video one as well.
 
I do not have those anymore. I used to get the free gem videos occasionally, but now they just don’t exist for me.
