Personally in my eyes the sexualities of the characters are undetermined until the show officially confirms them example; as it stands right now rarity is heterosexual as we’ve seen her flirt with multiple stallions so far emphasis on as it stands since a later episode could reveal her as bisexual by pulling off a korrasami.

this again? the first thing that happens if a gay couple appears there is that some countries won’t present the show anymore (mine included) because it is a show for everyone to enjoy. Sure, you can have your ship and see fanarts and fanfics of it, but saying they are cannonicaly lesbians is a bit too much don’t you think? If the show was rated T then i would say it is possible to have at least one explicit gay character. Also, knowing how we bronies are stereotypically known in the society, this wouldn’t help so much, and dhx wants everyone to enjoy the show

You want drama? How about the fact that some people claim we’re objectifying the ponies due to all the lesbian ships? Shippers don’t seem to give a damn about the ponies actually being lesbians, and just like seeing their PERSONALITIES work off each other.

Alright, as a lesbian myself, let me explain as best as I can.
 
You also have to remember that MLP is a bit of a matriarchal society, and the majority of the ponies in Equestria are female, which would liken the chances of a lesbian couple.
 
Secondly, the personalities of the mane six and supporting characters are just so complex that it’s just interesting to see how they fare romantically, and many of them are female so a lesbian ship is bound to happen.
 
I like lesbian ships, mainly because it’s nice to see some representaion of my orientation. We are a minority, so it’s nice to see so much love for us gays in this fandom. :)
 
I know that they are likely not all lesbians– Rarity is likely straight, we’ve seen her flirt with stallions, Twilight is maybe straight because of her Crush on Brad Flash, (though it’s not entirely confirmed, she could be bi for all we know) and AJ’s, Fluttershy’s and Rainbow’s orientations are yet to be discovered, though it’s just fun to write/draw about different ships.
