Nyx existed before Shining Armor did? I didn’t know that. How would anyone know that shield cutie marks would become the next big thing?
I like Nyx a lot as a character, but I haven’t read the story yet. I heard a lot of stuff happens in it, and I wasn’t prepared to feel D:
Her initial lack of a cutie mark was actually a bit of a plot point. When she turned into “Nightmare Moon”, she didn’t have Nightmare’s mark, which proved she wasn’t the same being as Nightmare.
She earned the cutie mark shown here near the end of the story.
It’s supposed to be a shield. She gets a shield mark towards the end of the original story, representing her desire to protect the ones she loves. It’s kind of cliche, but it’s hilarious to consider how this happened before both Shining Armor and the CMC’s marks showed up on the show.
