Seriously, though, Dinky’s just another one of the scores of anonymous background ponies whose use in scenes is almost random.
It’s just a modified trot, basically.
The same way Dogs and other 4 legged animals walk on 3 legs. With difficulty, but with practice, are manageable at it~

Please refrain from such comments. She’s been seen with a number of guardians now (Derpy included) so it’s really impossible to say that a “canon” exist. Do not post bait.
Or she could be a friend of Dinky’s, besides, I do recall Jim Miller saying Dinky’s relations to Derpy was “up to the fanbase” in a tweet when someone asked him after the airing of “The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows”.
Either dinky makes a habit of hanging out with grown ups or dinky’s parents have been hiring different sitters.
No proof on that, Millie here could be foalsitting for Derpy for all we know.
