I don’t know why but it look me a moment to notice that was Celestia’s crown backwards around her neck. At first, I thought it was a set of those Bluetooth headsets worn around the neck.
 
It is what is known as a torc, a neck ring made of silver, gold, or other metals which is largely equivalent to a crown.
 
What she usually wears is what is known as a peytral, which was intended to protect a horse’s chest from any harm in battle. Hers is more ceremonial than functional, of course.

The torc is a really nice touch. It bears the colors of her usual regalia, but looks so much more casual and relaxed.
 
I would imagine that would be the reason she wore one. Represents the power she wields, but is less…intense.

Oh, okay, fair enough, I personally think it’s just a little bit too ambiguous for it to be shipping, but if the artist gave it a Twilestia tag, that’s fine.

What the hell? This isn’t shipping you guys, it’s just a friendly chat, so who decided this warranted a shipping or lesbian tag? Not that I’m trying to pull a Mario-wolfe or anything by saying this… (why are people so sanctimonious anyway?).

its rare to see art like this on the top 4, this is a nice piece indeed, but i can’t help to notice that twilight is missing her horn on her shadow
