I see what you mean, low to mid quality shipping art and bad photoshops. But it’s still kinda sad how the few good ones get a lot of downvotes just because Sonic is in it.
Basically what @cheezedoodle and @Background Pony #9DCD said; it’s not anything to do with the fact that it’s Sonic, it’s that the vast majority of these images are really poorly made.
There are well-made Sonic crossover images (like >>1145959 and >>1153461), but they can be hard to find amongst all of the dregs.
For me at least, it’s not about the non-pony-ness.
It’s that the characters are all drawn in jarringly different art styles. Like someone just cut-and-pasted two completely different original images together.

(I’m not a fan of sonic but I seriously don’t see the point in down voting good art because it has sonic in it. Yet it is what it is.) :(
Honestly, I dunno why this artist insists on inserting sonic characters into otherwise very well edited images.
