If age doesn’t factor in then humans aren’t human sized until they’re adults, so yeah, age counts. Teenagers. They’re the size of human teenagers.

The teenage characters of Equestria Girls like Twilight, Sunset, Rainbow, etc… are noticeably shorter than the adults. The Ponies are roughly, up right on their hind legs, as tall as the teenage characters, so Human adults are still a lot bigger than the Ponies.

Why the heck would you assume that apples are three feet tall? If you see a fantasy series, will you assume that there’s four suns in the sky until proven otherwise? No. You assume one. Like reality unless otherwise noted.

I don’t think it’s “super unlikely”. I’d say it’s probably likely.
 
I mean you have a setting which does not take place on Earth, characters that have their appearance based off ponies, have pony names, and most likely live in an alternative Equestria.
 
To me it makes more sense that the characters are pony people, it makes the most sense to me with the way the setting is presented.

I think the size comparisons would count as “otherwise noted.”
 
Apples are this big compared to people irl. Ponies are this big compared to apples - we see it on screen. Ponies are thus this big compared to people. It’s pretty smooth.
 
Where “Like reality unless otherwise noted” comes in, is that the apples are like reality in every way; they grow in trees that presumably require nourishment, sunshine, water, etc. is implicitly like reality. That they are the size of apples irl is implicit in the same way.
 
There’s no reason to think they are different, in that, say, they’re grown from the blood of changelings spilled under a full moon, just as there’s no reason to think they’re bigger or smaller unless otherwise noted.

Where’s the fun in that? If we just assumed that there would not be all these size comparison pics. Using the show some people have come up with bizarre sizes for the characters. Which is all fair game until it gets officially confirmed via official sources

I’m pretty sure when they say “apples” they mean “apples” and not “strange 3-foot tall alien fruit that’s identical to an apple in every way but isn’t for some random reason”.

Just because they are not us, does not automatically mean they don’t have similar heights~ =P

I’m afraid this is no good, lads.
 
It’s like trying to use real life ponies to determine the size between us and the ponies from the show. It doesn’t work because the ponies in the show are almost nothing like ours.  
According to Ishil Rudell, the director of the EqG movies, EqG does NOT take place in Earth.  
 
What this basically means is that the Equestria Girl characters are NOT us and they can’t really be compared to us just like real life ponies can’t really be compared to the ponies from the show. So it really renders this picture useless when trying to decipher the size differences between us and teh ponies from the show since all this is a picture showing the difference between EG characters and the ponies.
 
Unless they decide to bring in a real hooman bean we might never know how small the ponies really are in relation to us. Actually G1 had Meghan and that boy. Maybe g4 characters are the same size as g1.
