I guess she’s kinda like AJ in that she’s less… I dunno, she can’t be boiled down into a single all-encompassing trait, which makes her a bit less fun, but IRL, she’d be one of the best people to know - like AJ.

Seriously-if she’s depicted in a scene where she has a meltdown, I would actually respect her more as a character than I do now. I don’t mean no ill will towards her, but the whole “perfect-pretty-pink-princess” character only works for so long before people get tired it.
 
My point that I’m trying to make is that life is full of struggle, heartache, and dissapointment. But, by overcoming those types of obsticals can a character grow and become stronger because of it. I’m not saying one should isolate themselves from everyone else because they had a bad time, but to learn to learn from it.
 
That’s what makes a compelling character, someone who comes across an obstical, struggles, and overcomes. Not someone who comes across as the spkesperson for Prozak and Zoloft all the while pushing the product of a failling toy line.

Wow. I guess they really took Silver Quill’s rant on everything wrong with Princess Cadence seriously. But let’s be real you guys. She’s literally the Meg Griffin of MLP FIM.

Insane/parody headcanon: Her issue is Shining Armor yelling out “Twily” when he finished in bed last night instead of her name. Super awkward all around.

Twilight couldn’t even take him out with all 4 alicorn princess’s power combined into herself, so somehow I doubt that they could’ve just ganged up on him so easily.

Well that’s because the writers believe that because the show is aimed towards a younger audience and that the show has a much larger following of an older demographic of fans they can just fix they can get people to believe that the worlds problems can be fixed with sunshine, hugs, and rainbows.
 
Newsflash people, we don’t live in that type of society.

Her development as a character is much slower than the narrative she is in.
 
Hell, our next episode is about her learning to trust those she doesn’t like. Something she should have learned long before being crowned, moving into a castle and being trusted with the rehabilitation of a former psychotic cult leader.

Not at all I totally agree with you. They basically turned Twilight into the pony version of Harry Potter. And have you ever noticed that despite having freinds, she still treats everything like a homework assignment?

I won’t go too much into it, because it’s just my opinion, and a really annoying one to some, but Cadance and her husband from the beginning were like a prop for Twilight to make up for the fact she doesn’t have much of a life or goals outside her God-given duties, which has only grown as the series has progressed.

and yet they did the same with the Cakes, Cranky and many more possible 2nd and 3rd tier characters/couples and I’m more invested in them. Yes they should have made her earlier on S1 or beginning of S2 and not the end of it. Maybe introduce her further down later in the series and then there would be more story options to lead current. At this point its either further breaking her or salvage some little piece of her and I’m hoping the comic writers can give us that what the show writers can’t that and there’s more flexibility in what they can get away with. Also, the sending Twi and friends to fix it is more of Celestia’s forte. Cadance is more -Hello, now I’m out/get out/down and out.

I’m not trying to sound hateful it just seemed to me that the show writers just took the quickest route possible just so that they say “See, she has her uses” without actually having to put in as much effort into her character as they do the rest of the cast.

Oh trust me there are tons of people who dislike her. It’s just never mentioned because it’s usueally all burried in the comments.
 
I wasn’t saying that I dislike Cadence, just that she doesn’t seem to be much more than a prop for the writers to use.
 
But yeah, some people have gone as so far as to say that she had ruined the lore of the show simply because of the lacking backstory as to how she’s connected to the Crystal Empire.

Well that’s to be expected when they’re dropped with a character that they know nothing about at the last minuite. Had she’d been introduced earlier in the series chances are that she wouldn’t be getting the backlash she gets today.
 
I remember back when she was first announced, she was getting tons of hate because she was being brought in as an Alicorn, soon after her debut episodes some were saying that her image was redeemed “because she has a great singing voice”, but in truth if you look at around a lot of the comments (especially on Equestria Daily) most people cant stand Cadence simply due to the fact that she exhibits next to no personality what so ever. She doesn’t have anything that’s relatable to the audience. So she’s displayed as the princess who just sits, smiles and waves and looks pretty. Whenever she has a problem she sends for Twilight and her freinds to fix it rather than doing so on her own. But that’s just it, the writers of the show have no idea on how to give her more character depth so both her and Shining Armor just get written in as the Ken and Barbie of Equestria simply beacause it’s more convenient to sell a toy line.

I don’t know, I liked how part 2 of “Neigh Anything” was told from Cadance’s perspective, and it gave us a cute side to her.

Comic wise, The high-school prom showed some sliver of salvaging but it was more of Shiny butt and not Love butt. I’m in the stance she’s on knife’s edge to natural disaster, but at least not at the level of “Brad”.

There’s no salvaging this train wreck I’m affraid. Since her debut in season 2 she hasn’t seen much character development and were already in season 6 and she still comes off as someone who just downed an entire weeks dosage of Zoloft. I’m not “anti-Cadence”, but I’m not all that impressed with her character overall.
 
I’m not saying that she has to jump through hoops of fire or anything, I’m just saying that it would be nice to see more sides to her character rather than the one dimensional personality she seems to have. Even Shining Armor has shown other sides to his persona which is more that can be said about Cadence.
 
So my prediction is that Twilight shows up seeing Cadence wallowing around in her own self-inadequacy. Seeing as Twilight and her freinds have saved the day on several occasions while she remained the damsel in distress. Cadence feels both jelousy and saddened by this and can’t bring herself to confront it with Twilight out of fear that it would cause a rift in ther relationship all the while the Crystal Empire is slowly going to pot. Twilight soon finds out about it anyway and both her and Cadence have a heart to heart talk, that I’m gonna guess spans 2-3 pages. Twilight tells Cadence that she’s more than what she believes herself to be and re-ignites her lost confidence all while not having to do anything at all.
 
That’s my prediction in a nutshell, I’m sure they’ll have more going on I’m sure, but at it’s core that’s what it’s going to boil down to.
