My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

Does the green dragon there with the long tail and long snipy muzzle look slightly like Ballista to anyone else? It gives me the idea that some dragon body types may be specific to certain families or regional clans. I can see Ballista and her relations as being seaside cliff-dwellers who like adding some fish to their usual gemstone meals.

Just because one part of the armor is harder than the other doesn’t magically make more armor useless.
Knights wore padded armor and chainshirts under full plate as an example: Redundant armor increases defense. And a piece of steel with a foot of iron over top of it can take more force to puncture than a piece of steel alone.

More armor equals more protection even if one part is weaker than another: the real reason to not wear armor as a dragon would be if the armor slowed you down (which doesn’t appear to be an issue since she can fly easily, though it does seem to pose issues for sinking in water)

Technically the bracelets have higher resistance to damage than her so against SOME projectiles (like darkseid’s omega sanction) it’d be useful to block; she probably just blocks out of reflex

Not if that dragon showed great fear and power. Everyone bows to a Strong leader that’s called intimidation. I feel a very powerful ancient dragon could break that stupid tradition. Something like Malefor and Alduin could overthrow this new age of dragons.
But I guess you are right about the dragon code.

I’m glad someone finally made a reference to Malefor and Alduin. I always assumed the dragon leader would be an unshakable demigod like them.

The implication is that the title of Dragon Lord is given to one in a generation. The other big dragons are in the same generation as Scorch, so they aren’t in the running for it.

As for older dragons kicking the Lord’s ass, we are lead to believe that dragons have a history firmly rooted in tradition. You break that tradition, you risk having ALL the dragons come down on you.

And yet not a SINGLE ADULT dragon competed for Dragon Lord. Sorry that feels so odd. This is like a General bowing down to a childish prince. He’d not stand for that and usurp the throne. If anyone of these dragons excluding Ember won an adult would just squish them like a bug and take the scepter. After all, aren’t dragons greedy and lust for power?

Actually, I think they were just stuck in a little bit rather than jammed all the way through. He said “Thick scales”, so that implies they were stuck directly into the scales.
