Spike is younger than Twilight for about ~6-7 years (she hatched him on the school entrance exam). If Twilight is 21, then Spike is 14-15. Ember also seems like much older than Spike (judging by height), perhaps slightly younger than Twilight. CMC are definitely younger than Spike, and they’re in the elementary school.
It’s been said by some of the staff the mane 6 are young adults, so very late teens at the youngest.
Agreed. In terms of maturity, he’s very much his actual age. He’s still a ‘baby’ purely in terms of physical development.
Given the responsibility Spike has been given I’m ready for Twilight and friends to move on from ‘baby’ dragon and to something else like ‘young’ dragon.

Twilight was 5 or 6 when she hatched him, and she’s about 18-22 now, so he’s 12-17. The CMCs are likely somewhere around 7-10.
He’ll probably be a ‘baby’ dragon until he’s in his early 20’s.
I’d guess Ember (and Garble et al.) is in her mid to late 20’s (or possibly early 30’s).

In fact, I’m pretty sure the CMC are younger… in the Cutie Mark origin stories Spike’s just freshly hatched, but there’s no sign of any CMC there…
It’s always bothered me that someone who is a “baby dragon” is able to do things not-very-baby like, such as shelve books in a library, write letters to the princess and save forgotten empires in the frozen north…
Well ya, Spike is “baby dragon” as by dragon standers he is still a baby, but he’s around the same age as the CM who are not seen as babies.
I’d imagine that ponies and dragons age differently. Although Spike and the CMC are some times at the same maturity level.

That would make him yonger then what the CMC are seen as, 8-10, and it’s clear that even as a “baby dragon” he is older then them by at lest about a year.

I’d say he is about 13. I think Ember would be about 16-18.
But hey, that’s just my headcanon.
I’m going to throw out some random ages here in attempt to convert Spike and Embers ages to human?
