When the Hero comes out, I’ll mostly be playing as the Dragon Quest VIII hero. Then when the 3rd pack comes out , I can’t wait for Banjo and Kazooie to go to Mementos!

Technically, it’d be more satisfying for me at the least if there had been the opportunity to pit Erdrick against Warrior of Light or Cecil, whose games were more closely associated with Nintendo systems. However, one can still match up DQ and FF characters together in other games like… Uh, I think Itadaki Street is the only one. XD

Thanks to the Hero being DLC in Smash Bros., you can have both franchises duke it out in Smash, alongside Persona and Pokemon!

I heard DQX actually didn’t do very well. The initial decision was to not export it oversees because it’d be super costly since it’s an MMO. It was brought to four different gaming consoles in order to boost sales, presumably with sub-par results. The obvious reasons being the Wii’s, Wuu’s, and 3DS’s eh online capabilities, and that Japanese DQ fans don’t necessarily like it when DQ strays too far from classic RPG territory. :T

Final Fantasy definitely lost a lot of talent and direction sometime after VIII, really only having one last real hit (in terms of quality) with IX.
 
Dragon Quest is pretty much still going strong, even with the head-scratching idea to go the FFXI route. . .

Hmm… while Final Fantasy IV might be favorite, honestly the Dragon Quest series has had a far higher consistent quality. Even if I do wish they’d get somebody else for the character design.

I thought the Mother series was awesome personally, and I’ve always loved the elderscrolls, even though the main plot was horribly executed in most of them

I really haven’t got an interest in FF or DQ. Don’t know why but there’s something really off-putting about both series’ to me.
