Nothing has shown that Sunset has any desire to return tho nor has she shown any feelings towards Celestia. Having the character appear out of nowhere, especially for some fan service, just seems like poor taste.  
I believe, for better or worse, Sunset has found a new home.

As much as I would love sunset to show up and kick glimmer to the curb, It’s probably not gonna happen outside of a temporary crossover during a tv special or something.
 
Since luna and sunset seem to have matured beyond the angsting part of their character this show needs a new guilt ridded former phycho to sell toys and for the draco in leather pants crowd to latch onto and unfortunatley the rest of us will have to endure her episodes so we can enjoy the rest of the show.

Why not? She has a great popularity between fandom and many people want her back to Equestria, especially to apologize with Celestia. Maybe, when human Twilight learns the magic of friendship, Sunset might have a reason to return.
