How is it “shitting all over canon” if you don’t even know what the complete canon is? And why does that mean the writers don’t? They may make up new things to add to the lore, but every show does that to keep things fresh. Just because some things seem to conflict with each other, doesn’t mean that there’s not a perfectly valid explanation that can link the conflictions together.
 
Also, there’s a ton of opinions in your comment that you’re stating as fact. Your opinions are perfectly fine, but please don’t think that yours are the only ones that matter.

Every once in a while I’ll forget where I am, and feel shocked when people take this stuff seriously :o
 
I want the show to never change, yet keep introducing new main characters and special powers. Focus on Ponyville yet keep showing me new far off lands we’ve never seen before. Be mostly slice of life but be full of adventure and exploration. I want it to be serious yet full of humor :o
 
I also want Twilight’s old house back, but I can complain about that elsewhere :O

If a writer makes a bad change, it is a bad change, and you can’t throw it under the umbrella of “ummm people unfairly hate change”. That’s like saying little girls like clop because they like ponies and clop contains ponies.
 
The show was good before it took itself more seriously, which happened near the end of season 2. This is because the show takes place in a magical fantasy pop-up book for children, which is simply not able to deliver the depth, definition, and consistency necessary for any self-respecting viewer to care about drama in it, because being a world founded on Disney magic, most if not all plot twists and character designs must necessarily be deus ex machina (i.e. ass-pulls.)
 
In addition, post-season 3 the writers have spent most of their time bringing back waifus and making cheap brony references and forced memes, which is simply not entertaining or interesting.
 
The problem with Flurry Heart is not that she is a change. It is that she takes a massive shit over the canon, because the writers regularly write themselves into corners (a classically amateur mistake) and have to violate their own rules to adhere to Hasbro’s mandates.

pretty sure it’s just not liking change besides you can’t claim bad writing as we have not seen the episode yet and I doubt you helped write for it, the fact you’re already calling it bad without having seen it means you don’t like change.
