You forgot to mention the part where he got freed from Tartarus by the power of the Tree of Harmony, placates Twilight by sprouting a nice treehouse full of books to replace the castle she lost (which somehow convinces her to give the princesses their magic back), and vanishes to parts unknown after he told Discord that he wasn’t someone worth following, like the selfless hero he is.
