I see. Not everybody can be a cinephile, I guess.
It’s too bad though, because you don’t know what you’re missing.
(Also, sorry for not getting your joke, I had a sense of humor transplanted into me years ago, but it obviously got rejected)
The Titanic comment was a joke really. Not trolling in any way shape or form here. I’ve heard of only 1 of those movies on that list, Inception, and watched none of them. Inception didn’t interest me. I didn’t even watch Titanic. Leonardo Decaprio just isn’t in any movies that catch my interest. Then again I don’t care who’s in what movie at all so, if he is in a movie I’ll watch.
Granted the last movie I’ve seen was… probably Jurassic World or the Martian. And before that there’s a lot of really popular movies that just never catch my attention like Avatar. Yea, it has good CGI but the premise of Avatar didn’t interest me enough to bother watching it. Mostly I see a movie because someone invites me to see it not that I go out of my way to see it. Going to see a movie is about spending time with someone watching it to me then the movie itself.
It’s mostly a question of popularity. Outside of The Force Awakens and the Indiana Jones sequel that best not be mentioned, Harrison Ford hasn’t played any major roles recently. As for Tom Cruise, I’d say that his commitment to the Church of Scientology and his “couch jumping” moment ten years ago have irredeemably damaged his Internet popularity.
Regarding DiCaprio, I hope you’re trolling, otherwise you really need to watch Gangs of New York, Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator (nominated for best actor in this one), The Departed, Blood Diamond (nominated for best actor again), Shutter Island, Inception, J. Edgar, Django Unchained and The Wolf of Wall Street (nominated for best actor once again), to restrict ourselves to his post-2000 movies that I have actually seen* (and of course his latest one which finally earned him the award and which I went to see just yesterday night), because he got to play memorable parts in all of those films and he visibly gave his all in every single one.
As for the comment about Titanic, I won’t dignify it with an answer.
I don’t get why it’s a meme anyway? Leonardo Decaprio isn’t that big of an actor. I mean if Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise didn’t get one by now, it’s obvious not everyone gets one. I mean of all movies that Leo did, Titanic is the only one that came to mind and it was so bad they never considered making a Sequel till recently.
Gotta get mileage outta this while I can!
It’s really hard to think of an actor who owned the everloving %$#& out of a movie and a role quite as hard as Depp did with Jack Sparrow in the first POTC movie, and there sure as $#!+ weren’t any others in 2003.
Nope. He’s been nominated for the Academy Award thrice, Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Neverland, Sweeny Todd.
Wait, Jhonny Deep hasn’t won a single oscar? BULLSHIT!
Now here are some other actors who have not won Oscars yet.
Will Smith
Johnny Depp
Helena Bonham Carter
Tom Cruise
Harrison Ford
But the meme is over at least.
Personally, it should have gone to World of Tomorrow.
We don’t know yet.
