Kilala’s Pokemon humanization are the best!
ug agree
Boktai was somewhat different because a third party developed a peripheral for it. Usually a decision made by publishers with far more money like Nintendo, Sony, or Sega before the Dreamcast died. :j
Eh, as someone who plays Nintendo for years I’ve seen weirder. Kojima wasn’t all that good at being weird, at times he’s just following standard Japanese weirdness conventions, other times he’s much like an amateur film maker trying to copy Quentin Tarantino’s style without actually understanding why it works.
Except they don’t. Digimon games try different formulas. Digimon world 1, 2, and 3 were fantastic. 4 wasn’t really 4, it was called X evolution and it was basically PSO with digimon. There there was Digimon story (digimon world DS), but it was too easy. Then came Dawn and Dusk, which was quite good but lacked postgame content. Then we got Championships but it again lacked post game content.
The final game in the states for a while was the horrible PS2 “digimon data squad” game, which had random encounters out the ass and a TERRIBLE UI when it came to battles. Due to poor sales, they tanked the games in the states.
Due to wanting the games back, we finally got Cyber sleuth, which is VERY fun.
why? cause from the ones I have played, each are good in their own right. each being a different form an rpg can take that digimon can do, since the concept of digimon leaves it open to do so.
yeah but… every digimon game sucks… except the anime game…
Kojima also made the Boktai series. The main reason his games get sales is because they’re weird. X3
And then there’s Mario and Zelda which need no explanation…….
And good God was there ever a time when Kojima could actually be considered a decent story teller let alone a good one? At least one time? At all? The closest I could think of is maybe Zone of the Enders…..
So has digimon.

Older franchises have similar neighsayers. Sonic, even if he’s only four, five years older, and Metal Gear, whose serious themes are hampered by its creator’s inability to get serious. XD
20 years and still strong. Few franchises can say that, especially from the latter half of the 90’s.
?
really people
X and Y seemed vastly more like a streamlined situation, making the mega evolutions center stage and having faster breeding abilities, it just didn’t have much for long term. ORAS did that a lot better, despite the lack of the battle frontier.
Also, it felt considerably more gimmicky than any of the other generations… which is a shame.
I was looking forward to Zygarde but Gamefreak crushed my dreams😢
Same here, at the very least I’m liking this better than just a third version of X/Y, I mean I love X/Y but there are only so many times one can go through the same region of any given Gen before it becomes stale.
I keep forgetting. i keep thinking stunfisk is part water, not ground.
Stunfisk is Ground/Electric.
Mega Altaria is Dragon/Fairy.
probably saving it for e3.
We’ve seen what happens when they blow their load early and then have nothing to show. (2015 presentation with Iwata, Reggie, and Miyamoto as Muppets, while touching in that aspect, had only 2 games to showcase, and one of those games was terrible while the other flew under the radar).
So sad that was the the last presentation Iwata was with… heck, his last official statement was apologizing for it…
