soooooooooo, she’s cried so much that her tears are knee-deep, AND the salt in her tears is beginning to crystallize?
 
From a perspective of anatomy, light, shade, and technical competence, it’s extremely impressive and beautifully done. But I cannot for the life of me figure out what the artist is actually trying to depict.
