Description
A recent commission of mine staring Daring Do and Trixie, it seems they were both after the same magical artifact that had become a part of a dragon’s treasure hoard. Daring Do is now reminded as to why she seldom works with others as Trixie’s actions have landed them on the menu for the evening and Daring must now do everything she can to change the dragon’s dinner plans. Just another day in the life of an adventurer.
She could teleport in the idw comics, but I don’t know if that counts. But maybe she can conjure small objects.
I was going to make some remark about transmuting meaning being rich, when I suddenly remembered that Equestria has gems lying around everywhere…
…Buuuuuut gold still seems to be rather valuable, there. That’s interesting. I mean, not nearly as valuable as it is here, but still hold enough value that small pieces of it are money.
Eh, should’ve been more clear, though: I do think she could do some useful things, just that those particular solutions of teleporting or putting the fire out wouldn’t really pan out.
…Plus, putting the fire out doesn’t help much if you’re still tied up. Then they’ll just kill you then cook you. I mean, I guess it makes death a lot less painful, but you still die :q But there’s probably a lot to be said for, say, the chef’s method of killing food items, as opposed to being spitroasted to death. I’d take the chef method over that any day.
Trixie can control the weather, though.
As for teleportation, she can at least teleport small items like a flower bouquet; unless we accept that she conjured those, which opens the door for her materializing any odd thing that could be useful.
And she can transmute matter, which probably has its uses…
How would she put the fire out?
We’ve seen only powerful alicorns, Twilight (pre-alicorn), Twilight’s brother, and Celestia teleport. It seems to be a really rare, advanced spell. Most unicorns don’t seem to be able to, and in Boast Busters Twilight said how most unicorns can only do 1 or 2 things related to their talent (implied to be in addition to telekinesis - since that seems pretty universal among unicorns).
Given that, a fire-out spell would be oddly specific :q
they can do a lot. and if some cant, why not use a anti-magic device or somthing?
as for whatshe can do, put the fire out, then teleport away?
Undoing the knots with telekinesis. Using her firework magic to blind the dragon while they escape, a la’ flashbang grenade - in the eyes.
Very true but Trixie doesn’t handle stress well, remember how she was after failing to subdue the Ursa in Boast Busters, it’s likely that the dragon is nearby making her nervous, not to mention how hard it would be to concentrate while rotating over a fire with an angry Daring Do inches from your face giving you the evil eye.
In fairness, It’s Trixie. She’s the one unicorn above all else who has pretty good justification for being able to get out of those ropes before you can say ‘Las Haygas’ with or without magic. She’s literally horse Houdini.
There could be any number of reasons that she’s not using her magic, there could be something in the cave that’s causing her powers to fail such as the magic artifact or she could be so flustered at the situation that she’s forgotten to use magic. I guess it’s all up to your imagination.
@OneAmongOthers
From now on, I suggest you actually explain what you want unicorns to do, because this “Magic, Fix It” crap has to end.
