So many people seem to be defensive about making their favorite character to be flawless. The reason why the characters are so appealing is because they have flaws; they’re human-like. Equestria isn’t a utopia, and nopony there is perfect. The show would be boring if it were.
 
Saying Dash isn’t arrogant is like saying she isn’t loyal. Heck, she leaves Rarity and Pinkie alone in the desert because her arrogance and competitiveness overpowered her loyalty. Nobody is perfect.

To be fair, most of us were too busy cleaning up the jizz from the fangasam Cannon Derpy gave us to pay attention to the rest of the episode.

To be honest, (no pun intended) Applejack is pretty rare to see as a favorite pony. Rainbow Dash deserved what she got in that episode anyway.
 
And yes, AJ was getting taken down a peg for being stubborn, her negative character trait. If all of the characters were shining examples of their element all of the time, they would be boring.
