Geez…but still, having her massacre Paradise Estate just because of that? To me, that sounds like a slap in the fact to G1 honestly…(and this fanfic to me sounds too dark for MLP standards, not saying stuff shouldn’t be dark, but to me, there’s a time and place where things should and shouldn’t be…grim-dark, per say.)

Well, it did kinda save her life.
 
Third Big Bad reveals that without the first to turn her despair into hate, she’d have committed suicide.
 
Instead she lives long enough to make a Heel-Face Turn and find new love in Vinyl Scratch.
 
Until she just flies straight up for no revealed reason. And shows up later to say a dead friend says hi, and then to otherwise interact with our new heroes while they’re on a spiritual drug trip.
 
I wish I was making this up.

Wheller is the handle for an author on FanFiction.Net and FiMFiction who wrote an interesting series of fics for FiM crossing it over with some of G1.
 
Since I’ve gone that far, I may as well explain what I was on about.
 
In the G1 flashbacks, Surprise is a psychotic villain who massacred Paradise Estate on the first Big Bad’s orders because Firefly fell in love with Sparkler instead of her.
 
And then Vinyl Scratch somehow snapped her out of it and they were lovers for a while before she flew straight up and wasn’t seen until some freaky shit happened to some ponies over a century later.
 
He didn’t get around to explaining that before canceling all of his stories due to lost interest.
 
But no, seriously, go read his stories, they are fucking awesome.
