I wish more people drew preg Gleamy. He makes a lovely girl, and mommy.
I’d like to see it written more, too, but not in the usual way. Instead of the usual ‘spell gone wrong’ comedy or ‘big bellies are hawt’ clop, I’d want him to genuinely want it from the start. Like, being with Cady while she was pregnant with Flurry, he was somewhat envious, and surprised himself by wishing he could do that, and even now that Flurry’s here he watches Cadence with Flurry and thinks they must share something he could never understand because she, like, made her from her own flesh and blood inside herself. And when it comes to the unpleasantness, he also wished he could take it on instead of not being able to ease the pain of the one he loves. His butt mark’s a shield; you know standing by while someone else endures something hard would never sit well with him.
So, yeah. Not a fetish, not an accident, but a deep desire to experience the miracle and the agony. When the subject of a second child comes up, he’ll ask to be the mom, and because he’s about as manly as it gets (big strong stallion who leads the royal guard, his forcefield can tell an entire changeling armada “you shall not pass!”) and becoming a mare and getting pregnant is about as un-manly as it gets, getting the words out is the hardest thing he ever had to do. (Well, for now. He’ll eventually say getting Skyla out was harder. …and that he’d still be up for doing it again.)
That’s how it’d be best to me. Not one of the usual cliches but as the thing he wanted most.

You’re implying that you have to be a good role model to be a good character, for one. Rainbow Dash is a terrible role model in the show, but she’s a great character in her own right, her flaws just make things interesting. For two, Sunset Shimmer is honestly a better Twilight Sparkle at this point and actually has depth Twilight’s lost ever since she became an alicorn.

You mean by stripping away everything that gave them depth and made them great role models? Yeah, real great “characterization.”
Because their characterization is what makes them a character. EQG showed that for the most part.
What’s the point of a story about ponies if they’re all human? That doesn’t make any sense.
