Since to this point both Dash and Twi are quite adept warriors, taking three enemies at a time shouldn’t be such a problem for two of them.
“Nets paralyze people under it” is a common trope, and I assume Going 3 one one unicorns was considered a bad idea by twi.
Well, Dash could just rip this nets apart then, or at least rip them from the ground. With her strength it should be quite easy. And what exactly stopped heroes from just openly attacking obviously weaker enemies from the start?

The nets were enchanted and Twilight couldn’t remove them, Rainbow Dash says so.
