Description
It took a lot of bravery to actually put up my crappy art on the internet for other people to see. It’s impossible to tell from the picture itself, but this is supposed to be Sonata.
PS: Yes, I know I suck. I usually draw birds and reptiles, not pony related things.

What you saw is true, for me, every time I do a new drawing I usually do a comparison with my older ones and see how much I’ve either changed or improved.
Usually (for me) I would put my signature on every drawing I do plus the date, to mark every drawing that I have done and finished.
Trust me, drawing other things is purely down to practice. Draw about a dozen of anything, and you’ll see a marked improvement between the newest and the first.
Just find something to work from at first and try to emulate the style, or even do a straight copy. Once that’s done try altering positions of limbs or tweak poses, and then move on to drawing your own stuff straight up. That’s how I did it.
Wasn’t sure if it was my place to do so.
When you draw nothing but birds or reptiles for 15 years, your range becomes rather limited. This is the best I could with an entity that is half fish (kind of decent with) and half mammal (a 5 year old could do better).
That’s why the worst parts are the forelimbs (completely screwed up the humeri and hooves) and the jewel (can’t draw inanimate objects). Everything else is similar enough to an avian or reptilian structure.
It’s very good, don’t put yourself down. I’d just suggest you get some drawing paper so that you can display or upload it without the lines all over it.
I went ahead and added one for you.
You’re very welcome! :)
Just try your best.

Thanks, all of you. ;-;
It sucks knowing that I’ll probably never draw any of the main characters (except maybe adult!Spike), but Equestria DOES contain a variety of avian and reptilian monsters, which are certainly within my capacity, if I can muster the courage.
When I do, though, it’s all going look more or less like this; concept art type sketches, because that’s my drawing style. Depth, shading, and perspective are beyond my abilities.
(that and most are not pony related)
but no its not bad i think it look pretty nice just keep practicing
It’s the fact that this is a show where almost all of the characters are mammals, which is a major weakness of mine.
I’m sure you’ll get better the more you practice. Looking at this drawing, it looks like you’re taking your time. I think that the more practice you put into drawing, the better the results will come out.
Sadly this really is the best I can do.
