The Princess of Friendship should know better, friends shouldn’t play Monopoly if they want to stay friends.
 
Play Catan instead. Heck, even Munchkin is less friendship destroying than Monopoly!

Also, Boardwalk and Park Place are a trap. They cost too much to develop. The Red and Orange properties are the best ones in the game, because they’re the most frequently landed on.
 
I say these things because I can’t imagine Twilight playing Monopoly more than once without ruthlessly optimizing her strategy.

Hotels are a bad investment. Buy four houses on every property and cause a housing shortage (by the actual rules of the game, no one is allowed to build anything if there aren’t any houses available).
