I never understood the hate over it frankly, especially considering the ponies already have some anthropomorphic traits, and such. Though, like I said it’s more accepted nowadays in most brony/MLP fan circles.

I have nothing against it myself. Just observing.
I recall, in some brony circles anthro’ stuff used to be shunned, and many bronies back in the Season 1 & 2 days didn’t like it, or didn’t want to be associated with the “furry fandom.” In fact Equestria Daily once got many complaints for featuring anthro’ art in it’s art blogs before.
So anthro’ art actually used to be taboo in the fandom, but starting around the season 3 days it started becoming so common, fans started to accept it more.

I haven’t “missed” anything. As I said, I’ve been doing this for years.
If you got “shot down” by that phrase then you have not seen the most vulgar ones around here being said. That is the lightest and gentle thing to say in that bizarre situation. You pretty much missed those days where even normal ponies are showcased on the 3-Day block. Its random.
I changed my username because I’d been using it on various sites for years, and I was tired of it. As for the quantity of anthro, it’s just a feeling I can’t shake. Maybe it’s just become more common in the 3-Day Top Scoring block, or maybe I’m just wrong. Even so, I was a bit shocked by how I was shut down, especially the “Have you been living under a rock?” part. Seemed a bit rude to me.
Can’t really call you a newcomer if what you say was true. What was your previous username? Why did you change it? Plus you should have known the amount of these pics have a hefty number in quantity and quality on here. Should not have been a surprise.

Again, there has been a fair amount of anthro stuff along with pony and human art being uploaded. Your just not been here long enough to notice it.
