Wes’ origin is way better to me, though; An incredibly vivid, semi-lucid dream, which even more than a decade later I can still remember with clarity, in which I gradually transformed myself into what I would later designate as him. I’m still kinda salty that I ended up waking up when it started turning into a martial arts tournament type of situation.

Back in late 2009 on the Homestuck forums I was doing a forum adventure to try and learn how to draw digitally with a mouse, since previously I had a laptop and did all my drawing with a touchpad. So I made -Mowz= to give me something to draw. Since my previous story got way too rules-y (because a story where the mechanics involve ‘use art to solve puzzles’ quickly gets exploited without limitations) I threw any sort of rules out the window and implemented suggestions vaguely, with the whole thing being written out with dream logic, and only vague mechanics that did whatever people suggested they should.
 
When I got into ponies, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to associate my internet presence elsewhere with here, so I combined my mice characters into a new username name, and that’s how I ended up being Keith here instead of Wes like everywhere else. Fittingly, too, since Keith I can actually ponify; Wes, being my ’sona and effectively just a digital avatar for myself, has nothing to work for a cutie mark because I have fuck all clue what mine would be.
