You are right!
Not exactly. Just because you’re good at Magic doesn’t mean you can feel the guy behind you with a knife who can simply cut your throat or stab you in tha back. Or what if they have magic compares to yours, or really good defense? They can reach you at a physical level and strike you that way. And the armor could also have bonuses.
To be honest it really looks more of a clothing item on the princesses than actual armor.
When you mostly deal magic damage, physical armor looks pointless.
