Not three, five foils/paralels/counterparts. Moondancer, Sunset and Starlight, Trixie and SciTwi.
 
I like all those characters, but goddamn are the writers fucking obsessed with Purple Smart.
 
How about we go in new directions and start using the other Mane 6 and supporting characters better?
 
Like, Friendship Games introduced a whole team of foils, and fucking wasted their existance.

Thrice, given how orderly Twilight is, Discord plays a good foil to her character as well. So it’s happened thrice. Though is it four times with alt-Twilight?
 
Meh, and yeah. Ironically, I thought he was used best in Friendship Games. He was interacting with a bunch of other characters and seemed more included instead of a ‘love tool’. However, it’s almost as if the writers are trying to forget about him. Shame.

God I hope there is not a next one. Once was fine. Twice is getting old. A third would be dull.
 
If anything the DHX team should be racking their brains to fix the other unique character to EQG Flash before they worry about creating another similarly named foil to Twilight.

Oh, I read your post wrong. Way wrong. I kinda see it now that I read it again. English is not my first language, so at times I miss the nuance of some sentences.
 
Back on the EQG/FIM debate, I still hope they go back on that. Even if just for a single episode. I NEED to see her meet Celestia again. Close that chapter of her life.

Oh no, I’d love Sunset to appear in the show and have her past explored and join the main six. It’s really a shame that EqG things can’t appear in FiM.

I also feel this push to keep both worlds separate hurts both stories in the end.
 
The lore that Sunset brings with her is way too good to waste like that.

Oh, I believe that Sunset is remorseful, but she really did just get blasted with friendship and suddenly realize her mistakes. Amen on her not appearing in the show, though.
 
Don’t necessarily agree with Starlight joining the main six, if that’s what happens, but I’d rather her than Moondancer or, god forbid, Trixie.

I know people will disagree, but Sunset looks so hurt and broken after her transformation is reversed that I easily bought her feeling remorseful of her actions.
 
Luckly, the next movies took advantage of that starting point to give us an amazing character.
 
It’s just a real shame that they’ll probably keep her completely separated from her homeworld, robbing the fans of seeing her complete the open ended chapters that form her backstory.
 
And quite possibly strip her current position as protagonist of EqG now that they have a blank slate Twilight in their hands.
 
As for Starlight, I’m not her biggest fan right now but I do believe they’ll address her like they did Sunset.
 
I just REALLY hope she isn’t a permanent addition to the Mane 6, because I honestly feel the other Twi expys deserve it more right now.

The scene from the first Equestria Girls where she was reformed really is just her being blasted by rainbow though. In all likelihood, season 6 will be Starlight’s Rainbow Rocks.

The rainbow just ended her transformation, which I remind you had corrupted her beyond the highscool bitch she was originally.
 
She actually talks about how that magic corrupts when redeeming Sci Twi.
 
She earned her redemptionn through actions in Rainbow Rocks.

Starlight was talked down with words and evidence. Sunset got lolrainbow’d.

Interesting parallel here, especially given that these were probably happening consecutively.

But human Twilight and Sunset Shimmer’s redemptions were much better than stupid Starlight’s redemption.

MLPFiM plot fall to bottomless hole. Mora than 20 minutes for a bad redemption scene.
