Has anyone thought “The Dragon Fluttershy Convinced to leave the cave” ? Anyone? Twilight said it would destroy the area for hundreds of years…. so like… hurrr…. Nothing to do with that shit movie.

I was trying to imply Sunset Shimmer. I hadn’t thought of the Sirens, nor do I think the Sirens would invade with an army of brainwashed teens. They might come back if they knew of the portal, but I think they find the humans and their world beneath them.
 
I hadn’t thought of the portal-based ponification. It wouldn’t have changed the wording used, though: a human is a human even if they are in a pony body when they come through the portal.
 
I envisioned a bunch of teenagers just making a mess out of things, not a Sunset Shimmer takeover. I imagine a successful Sunset Shimmer takeover would result in a something like the Nightmare Moon timeline, with society and regalia, just more orange tones.

Tirek might be able to suck the magic out of her, but if not, the only other villain I can think of who’d overpower her is, perhaps ironically, Midnight Sparkle. Ripping holes in the fabric of reality is probably even more OP than the mass hypnosis

And there’s no indication that there’s an upper limit on how many she can brain-jack, so once they hit Equestria, anypony they come across probably just gets rolled into her mob.

Also you gotta add that Sunset’s mass hypnosis spell spreads pretty fast between the population. Also she could easily turn people/ponies into demon-like beings like Snips and Snails. I am not sure how strong they’d be, but they would be at least guard-tier in the worst case.

Honestly could mean either Sunset Shimmer or the Dazzlings. Maybe even Sci-Twi but that’s unlikely.

what if sunset manages to find a better way to go to equestria without the use of the portal (the troop movement would be too slow)?

I had this idea myself, i realized though one tiny mistake. It wouldn’t be brainwashed teenage humans, it would be brainwashed teenage ponies, as sunset wanted to use the mirror to go to equestria, meaning everyone would turn into ponies.

either way it both works (sunset or adagio) but adagio has the better shot of doing so. no real ties to anyone in equestria so she can take her time in building her power base and not be hindered/distracted with revenge schemes.

Well… I can see this happening if after taking over Humanity actually found the portal due to parents wondering where the hell their kids went. Adults go through the portal and see the untapped resources of Equestria and one reports back to government and next thing Sunset knows the governments of the human world are basically strip mining Equestria.
