Uh huh yeah sure.
Drama? Please, pop that bubble pronto. Sometimes I just go back to check an image and see the old discussions.
Did you seriously just necro this thread to revive old drama?
Despite Spike being a child he’s not real so if these two want to fuck each other I say go right ahead.
(I Know she’s not a pedo I’m making a joke don’t get triggered)
Yea, I disagree with QueenCold but am not angry nor trying to fight with her. An age argument tag might be interesting though.
Some people have dirty mind.
Sure, let’s create another needless tag. We don’t have enough of those already.
It’s annoying enough that every vocalization of disagreement is jumped on and treated as drama, regardless of context or if anybody is truly upset at all.
We have more than one tag for ‘drama’ alone. Do we really need a tag for specific discussions?
Oh sister, where have you been all my life?! I also had a busy childhood. I was never a Daddy’s girl, but a maid with no payment, and my mom’s favorite. My respects to you, l mean it.
I had a paper round and did chores as a child, I got my first period when I was 9, I had a C cup at the age of 10, people thought I looked 18 when I was 13, I basically raised my stepsisters when I was a teenager because their mother was too drunk, their father was in a different continent and my father was always working. I cooked, I cleaned, I did laundry, I had jobs and I was homeschooled for most of my senior year in high school.
Yet, I wasn’t half as mature as I am now. This is because experience does not make up for an underdeveloped brain. It doesn’t take much maturity to do manual labor, it takes basic motor skills.
Your arguments make me wonder how old and how pampered you are.
They honestly couldn’t lay it on any thicker that Spike hasn’t reached adulthood, without telling him outright that he is a child in every episode. It doesn’t even matter if he’s a teenager, because teenagers aren’t adults.
I normally avoid comment sections like these like the plague, because of the sheer idiocy that is paraded, but the “it’s not pedo” comment was too moronic to ignore. You can’t change what something is, just because you want it to be something different. Just accept it for what it is.
Ship it if you want, they are fictional characters. Just don’t bring logic into it, because logic dictates it’s wrong.
You know what, if you don’t get it at this point, you never will.
@Pagan
@Blissey1
No, stop. Just stop. The CMCs follow this reality as the children character: they go to school; Applejack, Rarity, or their teacher assumes a guardian role in watching them or giving out punishment; they don’t have jobs; and their conflict is rooted in growing up and finding themselves in the wide world. It’s writing 101: if you have a child character then they have to be treated like a child character useless given an explanation as to why (war, abuse, etc).
@QueenCold
Again to shorten my over point: I disagree with you about Spike being a kid and there is not enough prove in the series to say that he is; I don’t mind how you feel about shipping and won’t try to convince you otherwise, nor care to talk about shipping in general; regardless how we feel the writing around Spike needs to be better and clearer.
He is mentally not an adult. He has never been treated as an adult. Let me put it as clear as crystal: he has never been depicted in a fashion that shows he is capable of giving consent to an adult. They have repeatedly shown us the opposite is true. There really is no discussion about it to be had. But even if there was no way you can tell whether or not the person in front of you is capable of giving you consent, the default option is not to assume that they are. The fact this needs to be spelled out to some people is downright scary and makes me wonder what logic they apply in real life.
This isn’t one of those instances where people need to live and let live, and leave people alone. No, it needs to be said. Any ship between Spike and one of the grown mares is pedophelic.
Now, since they are all fictional characters it doesn’t really do any harm to ship these characters, as long as the shipper understands that it is in fact pedophelic and doesn’t argue with people who point out a simple fact everybody should understand.
In other words: you can ship what you want, but don’t be so defensive of your ship to the point you start making excuses for being romantically involved with minors or flat out state that something that is pedo isn’t pedo. It just is. People will be creeped out by that for a very good reason.
Or both things…..
Or that children were so pathetic and useless that they can’t do those things.
I wasn’t aware that equestria followed american laws.
The show doesn’t treat him like one. So whether or not you agree, it has to be decided what way the show wants to go with it. Is Spike independent or not. If he is a child–even as the early series had him at 1000, retain his size, and be the adult to the adults in many cases–then he CANT work for Twilight, she CAN’T leave him on his own to go on adventures; he has to go to school; and a lot of the past humor used on him is now OFF the table as it can’t carry the same meaning.
In short, you want to call Spike a child? Fine, but STICK TO IT and call for the changes that needed to cement this reality.
Who cares how old they actually are? Spike is not an adult, that makes it pedo. I can’t believe you actually need to be told that. Stay away from my kids, please.
>Posts one picture takes things too seriously
K.
If you want to take this show too seriously with THAT kind of logic, whatever I’m outta here.
THANK YOU n_n!
We also have math.
I’m not based in EG or Headcanons to speculate ages of the mane 6 characters but their personality, traits and how they live and earn a living in the show. Lemme show you my personal chart:
-Rarity is OBVIOUSLY THE OLDEST. She runs her OWN business, she has a mature sense of fashion and overall, her actions denote a more mature approach than the other Ponies. I calculate that Rarity’s age (her Pony version) is around 21.
-Fluttershy is the second oldes, with 20 years old. Her calmed behavior, and mostly, her appearance when she was a filly (slightly taller than the average filly, and no, she was even mature as the average filly) denote that she is older than Pinkie and Rainbow.
-Pinkie pie and Rainbow must be around the 19 years old, with Rainbow just turned them when Cheese Sandwich was there.
-Twilight is the youngest with around 18-19 years old, more or less. Spike may be a dragon, but when Twilight hatched him, she was a filly, 9 to 10 years old, so I can say that Twilight Sparkle is the younger of the bunch.
As for Spike I think he is around 8 or 10 years old, as he is considered by the entire cast as a “BABY” dragon.
Spike’s egg hatched when Twilight was a filly, that means he’s at least 5 years younger than her. And none of their ages have ever been mentioned in the show, so if it’s never mentioned in the show then it’s not canon.
And by EG canon, she’s a highschool girl in that universe, so that means she’s approximately 15-17,
so that would make Spike approximately 10-12 years old, if he is in fact 5 years younger than her.
