Just look at this picture. Fluttershy’s wings are two overlapping sets of three large feathers, while Twilight’s wings have a small, 4-feathered part overlapping a very large wing with 8 parts on the edge.
They look different when they’re folded up, too.
I never really looked into that. I honestly couldn’t tell you.
