Description
October IDW Sales are in early!
Friends Forever sales were up last month.
Main series sales previously saw a small increase due to a new arc beginning.
In October they returned to the typical value for the second part of an arc (~17.7k since June).
Looking forward to see how the first 4-part story in a long time fares in its 3rd & 4th parts relative to previous 4-part arcs.

The 2015 Holiday got 15,112, close to 40% over 2014 Holiday’s 10,804.
It is similar to issue 1 and 9 with their huge spikes.
All three of those have in common: beginning of new arc, Price + Cook, and heavy promotion at conventions with many variant covers.
Like damn, that’s almost 10 thousand less sales.
Current arc’s first issue surge: +11%
Average second issue drop for all arcs so far: -11%
Current arc’s second issue drop: -9%
It’s retaining readers slightly better than average so far.
Average total drop (first part to last part): -18%
The expected value of the final part of Siege base on average drop: 16,021
This is the value the final part must beat in order to outperform other arcs when it comes to reader retention.
IDW is in general. A lot of people are rabid cover collectors.
Data loves you too.
Are comics really that dependent on people who buy 9 of the same thing? That’s crazy.
The two previous 1st-part spikes were a lot larger. Those issues had 9 and 8 covers, while Siege only had 5.
It will probably continue to spike whenever a new arc starts (especially when they do convention variants for new arcs), but overall it seems to be leveling out.
