The 1959 Mexican film Santa Claus with the creepy wind up life-size toy reindeer that pull Santa’s sleigh and do his unholy bidding. Pretty much what happens when you film a cheap holiday movie about Santa in a country where they didn’t have Santa.

Yeah, I saw one of his stand-up bits. Not funny. And I really don’t want some Nerdist podcaster in the cast. Can totally buy Felicia Day as Dr. Forrester’s daughter, though. And honestly, I’d much rather have Mike back than Joel, much as I love Joel. He hasn’t been part of the show since 1993. Too long an absence, and his exit was perfect. Really no reason for a reboot. Just do something new. We have enough remakes based on nostalgia that fall flat. There’s 184 classic episodes to still enjoy (not ocunting Season 1 and the KTMA, both of which are frankly unwatchable public access junk). That’s more than enough, plus Rifftrax. Let it go.

Actually 14 new episodes. Too many new people in the cast, and too many old faces not involved. Also looks like a case of “too many cooks” (Patton Oswalt, Pendleton Ward, all these folks who had nothing to do with the old show jumping on the bandwagon). Hopefully some of the magic will still be there.
