The comics aren’t canon. Chrysalis was blasted into the desert. Sombra was a weak character.

They spent time together during the episode, unlike Fluttershy and Big Mac’s episode. They were alone and “spoke” to each other, interacted. In the Fluttershy and Big Mac episode, Fluttershy talked at Big Mac. Re-watch the episode an tell me I’m wrong. They had no real conversation. Sure, they were friendly, as friendly as acquaintances can be. Big Mac and Marble had more than that. It wasn’t necessarily verbal, but they were much more connected than Mac and Shy were. This is obvious during the fireplace scene. Just because the characters don’t say it and rub it in your face doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
 
Whatever buddy. I consider the comics half canon. The comics overlap with the show at some points, so I find it reasonable to consider some of what happens in it to possibly be true. And if the comics weren’t canon, then I guess Chrysalis isn’t imprisoned, and Sombra’s backstory isn’t canon either?

Seems to me to be more of a grand prize.

Yeah, fourth cousin isn’t even on this chart, and the second cousin mark is the limit of even the most restrictive incest prohibiting laws. That means, overall, Pinkie and her siblings are about %0.20 more related to the current Apples than someone with no relation. The real question was why Pinkie still felt like this made them “family” in the first place instead of an interesting trivia to strike up a conversation.

Canon or not it’s all fiction anyway and in this fictional series the best of friends might as well be butt buddies since romantic love holds very little meaning when friendship overrules everything else.
