Yup, not only was it the introduction to such super heroes like Superman, but there are only between 50~100 of the things make each’s individual value quite high.

Interesting too is that the bottom comic looks like the ponified Archie and Jughead comic Spike was reading at the beginning of the episode “Made in Manehattan”, so you could argue that Twilight collecting her brother’s things was foreshadowed a full three episode prior.
