In case you’re wondering, this image is very out of context. In the comic Shining sees that the crystal castle is surrounded by smoke and is worried that Cadance is in danger. While he rushes to the castle, sombra attacks him from the side without shining noticing him.

I knew about Karloff and the stage play, but not that he did the role again on TV. Thanks.

And again with the dialogue, remember how Teddy was convinced to sign his real name on the commitment papers for Happy Dale?

“Okay, that name is Brewster. Take away the ‘B’ and what have you got?”

“Rooster.”

“And what does a rooster do? It crows. Now where will you go hunting in Africa?”

“On the veldt.”

“That’s right! Put them together and what have you got? Crows-veldt!”

And then the police lieutenant asking him to repeat it…

That last line is made even funnier by the realization that the role of the killer was originally played on Broadway by Boris Karloff. He did get to star as Jonathan Brewster in a TV version of the play in 1955, with John Alexander once more reprising his role of “Teddy Roosevelt” Brewster.

Arsenic and Old Lace? I loved so much of the dialogue in it.

“You look vaguely familiar. Have we met in a dark jungle somewhere?” Said by the crazy fellow to (unknown to him) his nephew, a scar-faced serial killer.

“I’m not going anywhere with this guy! He looks like Boris Karloff!”
