I’m thinking maybe its an experimental idea, they wanna see how people react to this design. Because of that the Cake twins didn’t have it in the episode.
 
We’ll probably see if it stays the same or becomes the new design when Shining Armor and Cadence have their baby.
 
As for how they thought of this? I’m guessing they probably saw Lightning Blitz go through beady to normal eyes before he was even a year old on the Motherly Scootaloo tumblr.

The second one is after she ate a whole plate of apple fritters. That’s a plate bigger then her of deep fried sweet apple pastries. She’s got so much sugar in her system her eyes are so dilated to the point she’s seeing the multiverse.

  1. Panel 1 is right after birth.
     
  2. Panel 2 is after her baby eyes have fallen out and been replaced by her adult eyes, which are still tiny.
     
  3. Panel 3 has her adult eyes growing out.
     
    idk what people have such a hard time understanding here.
