Not really. The exact same argument was used when progressives ended slavery, child work, segregation, 14 hour work day, oppression of people of different faiths, gave women and minorities rights, etc, etc. and it was proven wrong each time. Though #12EF is right, the easiest way for oppressor to continue what they are doing is finding some easily brainwashable idiots who will screech racism (and before that, apartheid, misogyny, xenophobia, jingoism, whatever) is the best and we should double down on it going back to stone age instead of adopting new, better ways…

Occupy Wall Street tried that one, and all it achieved was to get the 1% and other corporations start actually pay attention, monitor, and finance selected activism to make sure everyone would be to busy fighting each other instead of them.  
3/4 of the hatred & fear that popped seemingly out of nowhere during the 2010s come from poking the “desire for what others possess” nest too hard.

You’re going to need to end hatred, fear, and the desire for what others possess in order to do so.
