I’m thinking its more going to be that the other 5 are seperated from sunset and twilight and have to work together to break out all the campers imprisoned in the vines while sunset and twilight are off spleunking around for Gaia herself.

That’s what Monster High and Ever After High do in their movies, I was hoping that would kinda pop up in EG, too.  
While Sunset and Twi are off looking for magic, maybe Rarity’s having trouble with a tent mate? Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie start a prank war with the boys? Would be cool, is all I’m saying.

Thinking about it, I’m wondering if they’re not going to try and split the plots into a “A plot and B plot” scenario with the other 5 and Twilight and Sunset.
 
In the trailers it has the other 5 seperated from Sunset/twilight for a good portion of it, and twilight and sunset are off on solo adventures for the other part of the video.
 
For example when Gaia traps the camp in vines, its only the other 5 together, no twilight or sunset in sight.

because twilight’s going to have her magical incontinence in the tent while she’s sleeping, and sunset shimmer is the one who’s going to be the sole important person in helping twilight work through her Demonic fears.  
Shimmer’s alone with twilight in order to cut out the others from the situation to keep the focus on those two for Twilight’s plot arc for the movie.

Since the Beginning -

SRSLY, what was the fking point of putting Shimmer and Twilight in the same cabin besides contribuiting with the lesbian shipping?
 
Srsly, animators and directors everywhere should stop focusing efforts on a single group of characters, specially since the franquise they belong revolts around a number of main characters, not one or two.
