>Spike has never been “confirmed” as a “Land Dragon”.
>“Land Dragons” have never even been confirmed to exist in MLP.
>There’s no such as an actual Dragonolist (Fucking please).
>There’s also no “official” guide to dragon biology or anatomy.
>While some have things in common, each myth/series/game/story makes its own rules.
>So no, you “can’t tell” that “dragons his shape” do not grow wings.

Spike grew unnaturally in Secret of My Excess.
We know this because his shape was different from the one he had when he grew in CutieMark Chronicles. Since both forms were completely different, there’s no official “canon” one yet, as neither of them holds more weight than the other. Both were unnatural. If the show then has him grow by any other means (such as time) and gives him wings, then its not contradicting anything. There’s no “cofirmation” of anything yet, so please remember that your fanon is just fanon, don’t try to pass it as facts.
Maxwell Twist

<head canon destruction coming in>   Spike has been shown to be a Land Dragon, a type dragon that does not have wings. Also, being a Dragonologist, I can tell you that dragons of his shape do not grow wings and are instead born with them.

Since this episode my shipping of these two have gone through the roof. Before it was so hard to see them together, but now with her batwings (I think when spike grows his pair they would look similar) they would have more in common. Plus those red eyes are smexy.
