Pathetic Failure
@Ace the Dark Wolf
That’d be a cool ability. More so if it reflects the beam at the opponent. Though, to keep the ability balanced, it would probably make the reflection random. It might hit the opponent, a supporting Pokémon on either side, or nothing at all. I suspect a battle between two or so Pokémon with that ability will automatically cause the beam to hit nothing as bouncing back and forth between the two Pokémon would be boring and unproductive. What name would it have? I’m kinda thinking of Reflective Surface, but that might not sound cool enough for the ability.

@WanderingPony
Based on how luna said that random dark magic filled parts of the castle at night I just got the impression that they just had random monsters just floating around their unused rooms.

Like, the servant opens up the door to the Pantry: Boom, Freaking Basilisk out of nowhere eats them :p
Go to get toilet paper from the closet? Vampire. Toilet scrubber? Celestia damned hell hound.

It doesn’t make much sense, but neither does Luna saying that the castle was filled with dark magic at night either :p

Meanwhile, nobody asks how the heck a monster like this just flew into the palace at random and wasn’t so much as noticed by the guards. Flying mirror whales SHOULD be kinda obvious.

It copies all spells in proximity (and not just what hits it), so they probably would have to avoid using levitation to pick up the big rock and do it by hoof.

Perhaps a good kick from a strong earth pony could break it, I mean it is a bunch of mirrors.

This shows that Luna would be a crap D&D wizard; when you run into something that is magic immune you use magic to manipulate something ELSE to hit it, like picking up and Throwing something big at it.
