Throwaway character or not, her whole demeanor is totally appropriate for watching Blueblood get throttled. Just lay back and enjoy the show.

I finished part 3 last year but both the Artist and I had trouble settling on a scene for the third entry without spoiling anything so it ended up being forgotten briefly.

The prose is from Luna’s perspective, hence them big words. Many descriptions are from her own perception as well. Someone spending so many years away only to come back and listen to Dubstep and view modern architecture and recent art must have left her alienated. I thought that was a nice departure from the Royal Canterlot voice, as Luna has had a few years to adjust and address her modern subjects.
 
Luna is also supposed to reflect the viewers take on things from prior suspicions and judgement, as I’ve read many early fanfics that paint Blueblood with a ludicrous level of hatred. I’d figure it would be grand to depart from that and actually get down to brass taxes, what could drive someone to end up with a personality in that 22 minute Season 1 finale. And on top of that, can I flesh out his character into someone believably frustrated with the state of things?
 
Granted, Bluebloods character only surfaced in the end and I am determined to flesh him out entirely in part 3, now that those almighty slaps have rerouted his synapses somewhat.

I don’t know who the drunk mare on the couch is, but I like her reaction to the whole situation.

Nvm, I thought I’d seen everything there was to see when I was halfway through, but Blueblood’s getting his chance to tell his side of things. It looks like my second paragraph might not be as valid as I thought. Sorry about that. Serves me right for passing judgment before finishing.

The attached story is annoyingly pretentious - Both its use of purple prose and its borderline villification of modern aesthetics and dubstep. I’m no fan of dubstep myself (I do prefer orchestral pieces), but treating modern art, stainless steel, etc. as some kind of taint?
 
Not to mention its repeated rehashing of the idea that Blueblood is the worst pony to ever live for what he did in the S1 finale. Seriously, Luna calling him out on that when her own dialogue acknowledges it took place “a few years ago”….
 
I have to give it marks, though, for incorporating the Word of Faust on Blueblood (though I’m not sure if the author knows what “times removed” actually means - Common mistake there).
