I see Rarity being an authoritarian leftist. A social democrat who believes in a welfare system while also being authoritarian. I can see Rarity being well-intentioned extremist.

Add to that how we Europeans interpret Right and Left too. From our perspective, Libs are just as right-wing, and we laugh at the squabble over superfluous differences made out to be so divisive.

Hm. I think pony society as a whole would be rather liberal, especially in regards to LGBT issues (though, they may be a tad racist/xenophobic). So Aj probably isn’t traditionally right wing as we see in our world.
